It is built on the positive experience of the related previous programmes, the Intra-ACP Academic Mobility Scheme (2010-2013) and Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme I-IV (2016-2020). The action is part of the Youth Mobility for Africa flagship in the field of Education and Training under the Global Gateway Africa-Europe Investment Package [2] and it aims to support learning opportunities and exchanges and ultimately to promote Africa as an attractive study destination.It is managed by the European, Education, and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA), in cooperation with the Directorate General for International Partnerships (DG INTPA) and in collaboration with the African Union Commission (AUC).Ahead of the publication of the Call for Proposals, EACEA is organising an online information session on 13 March 2023 (14.30 – 17.30 Brussels Time). During this session, the speakers will inform participants on the Programme and its policy framework. They will also give advice on how to get prepared to submit a proposal.   Mr. Djamal Eddine AKRETCHE, the Rector of the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB), signed a collaboration agreement today, Wednesday, May 9th, 2023, at the conference hall of the Rectorate, with the University of Algiers 2 Abou El Kacem SAADALLAH, represented by its Rector, Professor Said BOUMAIZA. This agreement aims to strengthen English language training for USTHB's teaching and research staff by their colleagues from Algiers 2. The winning project of LG Electronics' national innovation prize, part of the "Leaders Generation by LG" program involving 1,000 students from different universities and schools across the country, was announced in Algiers during a press conference on Wednesday. The project selected among three finalists, focused on technology and with a societal impact, is titled Aamal and originates from the University of Science and Technology Houari Boumediene (USTHB). The organizers stated that these finalists were chosen from 23 submitted projects, following a rigorous evaluation process based on innovation and societal and environmental impact criteria. The Aamal project is a dedicated application for students seeking temporary employment or assignments, while also encouraging the establishment of connections between employers and students. It will receive a three-month support as part of the "Leaders Generation by LG" program, with the participation of LG Electronics-Algeria officials and Indjaz El Djazair, the program initiators.

The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is launching a call for applications for the selection of the (03) best works of doctoral students who will be rewarded during the ceremony planned on the occasion of the celebration of the National Day of student from May 19, 2024.   The selection process should be carried out in accordance with the following   guidelines:   1.  Eligibility criteria :          The competition is open to doctoral students : - Doctoral students working on a doctoral theme included in one of the 3 national strategic axes : Energy Security, Food Security and Citizen Health - Doctoral students regularly registered for the 2023-2024 academic year ; - Doctoral students who have not yet defended their theses by April 18, 2024 (closing date for applications), - Doctoral students with at least one SCOPUS B rank publication. 2. Selection Process :   -  Successive selections at the local level( 3/ establishment), regional ( 3/region) then national (first 3 among the 09 selected). - Evaluation of files by a commission established within each establishment composed of the VRPG/DAPG and the VDPG/head of department (see  “Selection grid”) -  Ranking based on equivalent annual score. The evaluation of candidate files is carried out by calculating the scores obtained by doctoral students (total points) and are divided by the number of years of registration to obtain the equivalent annual score.   The ranking of candidates in descending order based on the calculation of the annual equivalent score. In the event of a tie, the result of the evaluation of the publications will be taken into account.   3. The Islamic Development Bank Group has announced the launch of the annual “Effective Achievement in Islamic Economics” competition for the year 2025, to recognize and reward the outstanding achievements of individuals and institutions in the categories of knowledge generation and implementation of innovative development solutions guided by Islamic principles. It is worth noting that this award is presented every year in a single category, alternating between the categories of "Cognitive Contribution" and "Development Achievement". In this regard, the 2025 session of this award will be awarded to the category of "Development Achievements", in recognition and encouragement of creative projects that have successfully contributed to addressing the most important development challenges of the member countries of the Islamic Development Bank, the application for this competition is made exclusively through the electronic portal of this award at the address:   https://prize.isdbinstitute.org/how-to-apply   And this before October 30, 2024.
